We're post All Star break and it's time for teams to settle into who we think they are. (Yes Dennis Green's voice is rattling in my head now too). I'm thinking as the worst team in the league (again) the Charlotte Bobcats, are a solid go against. Remember they started 7-5, thus have gone 5-35 since. That's more than pathetic, it's their own category of horrendous.
The team who has underachieved the most so far and if they can stay healthy, whom I think is a good go with, is the Denver Nuggets. They had an unfortunate schedule where they played a ton of road games early in the year, now that that's evening out, they're playing very good ball and will have more home games in that high altitude to tip the scales in their favor even further.
As far as the mid season MVP award, you can go no further than LeBron James. Whether a fan or not, everyone agrees he's having one of the best seasons in the history of the league. With the Trade deadline looming in a couple days, we'll find out who the teams with a legitimate chance to win it all are very soon.
(Side note, a very good article on the deadline rumors - http://nba.si.com/2013/02/19/nba-trade-deadline-rumors-tuesday-josh-smith-kevin-garnett )
I'm starting out the second half with an Under as my free play, and it's a good one! Washington and Toronto are both playing really good ball, and it all comes from the defensive end. The Wizards are dead last in offensive efficiency and top ten in defensive efficiency. Toronto stats cannot be counted just yet, as we need a bigger chunk of data including Rudy Gay. Although you'll notice since Memphis lost him, their team defense is noticeably worse, including five games in a row going over. So I'll take tonight as a defensive battle between two up-and-coming teams and play UNDER 190 1/2 in Wiz Vs. Raptors!
NHL quick hitter: Our NHL handicapping guru Richie Douglas is taking over where he left off last year, making everyone cash week in and week out. Get on board now as this strike shortened season will be over in a flash and you'll have missed a great money making opportunity. We'll also include some free plays from him more frequently, sign up for the daily email!

NBA Corner and FREE Play - 2/14/13
by David Rudolph
"There's no love lost between
the opponents in tonight's NBA match-ups."
It's Valentine's Day, and I'm surely
not the first to think this, let alone blog it, but seriously, what better two
games could we ask for on an ironical stage for sweetheart day?
My current favorite rivalry is that
of the two Los Angeles teams. They're moving in different directions (for this
year anyway - see Chris Paul's contract negotiations for the status of the
rivalry next year). It's like the little brother who's been beat up and kept in
the shadow for so long finally stepping up and showing that he's not only
capable of sticking up for himself, but overtaking 'Top Dog' status! I don't
have an opinion on which way it will go tonight because I'm not sure how
healthy any player is on either team right now, but it will be fun to watch!
I do however have an opinion on this
rematch of last year's NBA finals. Miami is traveling to Oklahoma City and
bringing with it the absolute hottest player in the NBA this year. LeBron is
not only making a case for MVP this year, but causing the talking heads on all
media outlets bring up the "Who's the best player in NBA history, and is LeBron
in the conversation?" (IMO, Michael Jordan will never be overtaken, but
that's an argument for another day) OKC has averaged just under 120 points per
game their last three at home and they are averaging shooting well over 50% in
those contests.
When the two got together on
Christmas day, it only got to 200 points, but the Thunder will push the pace in
this one and get their fans frenzied and loud as they're known to do. I look
for tonight's game to be very high scoring and go over the 204 total. It's
going to be a very profitable second half, and tonight will put a nice bow on
the stacks of cash we've earned this NBA season in the first half!
UPDATE ** The line on the over has moved to 205 in most place and I still love the OVER!

NBA Corner & Free Play for 2/12/13
by David Rudolph
NBA Free Play - Toronto +2.5
Quick, who does Nando de Colo play
for? Not sure?? Well, it seems to be the San Antonio Spurs, and he started in
place of Tony Parker last night. This is his first year in the NBA, and he led
a depleted Spurs team to a victory at Chicago that hurt me and my client base
plenty.
I heard early in the day that the
swelling in Parker's knee would lead most likely to him sitting out and it
wasn't officially announced until 1 hour to game, and with fellow big guns Tim
Duncan and Manu Ginobli also hobbled. They were all out, as well as Stephen
Jackson. Again, you would assume a team that got out-rebounded 49-26 and didn't
have almost half their team wouldn't compete with a great defensive team like
the Bulls on their own court. "That's why they play the games!"
Moving on, I'm looking at the first
game on the schedule and a team I've made quite a bit of money on this year.
The Toronto Raptors are only a 500 club at home this year, but they're hosting
a team who is 11-16 on the road in the Denver Nuggets. Since being traded to
Toronto, Rudy Gay is averaging more than 6 points higher than his previous
points per game average with Memphis. The team is 3-2 in those contests, but
are meshing much better as they all get accustomed to playing together. A key
member of the Nuggets might be out tonight as well as Andre Iguodala is dealing
with a neck issue that has made him a game time decision.
NBA Quick hitter: The All Star game
is this weekend so we get a few days off NBA basketball to really focus on the
NCAA on the stretch run to the tournament. Miami Florida isn't sneaking up on
anyone anymore at #3 in the country, but I personally hope they keep up the
winning as I have a beautiful 80-1 ticket on them to win it all!

California Moves to Legalize Sports Betting
By Chris Allen
California State Senator Roderick Wright introduced a
bill that would legalize sports betting. Senator Wright’s district includes Hollywood
Park.
Sports betting would be open to anyone over 21 years or
older, betting could only be done I person so no betting via phone or the
Internet like you can do in Nevada. It also has a provision that you can’t bet
on certain California college teams or college games played in California.
Sports Books would be allowed in places that already have
legal gambling such as Horse Racing tracks, card rooms, and tribal casinos.
The state of California would receive 7.5% of the gross
revenue from Sports Betting. The bill would need a two-thirds majority vote in
the California Senate to pass. If you live in California you need to call your State Senator and tell them to support this Bill!
Considering that Californians already bet literally
hundreds of millions of dollars every year illegally and legally by driving to
the neighboring State of Nevada It makes a lot of sense to legalize, regulate,
and tax sports betting in California.
My views on the legalization of Sports Betting are in
another article I wrote a while back, here is the LINK!

Superbowl, Hockey, & NBA Free Play - 2/1/13
In the business of giving out sports information, the Super Bowl isn't one we hang our hats on. Everyone has an abundance of information because of the coverage it receives, and thus most people have formed their opinion on which way to go this Sunday on Baltimore versus the 49ers. I however still haven't been able to have a strong lean either way and will probably just enjoy the game with minimal bet on the side.
However like everyone else I'll be rooting in numerous prop bets! The last time I didn't have a strong opinion was the year 2000 when the St. Louis Rams were favored by 7 against the Titans, and because of a last minute stop at the 1 yard line, the game finished a push. Maybe this one will be like that and the Niners will win 28-24, pushing most bets? We shall see, and thankfully we can stop having to see all the drunken tourists waving at all the news cameras as the analysts break down everything from special teams to what color uniforms the teams will be wearing!
Here at chuckedel.com we are very excited that Richard Douglas has started releasing Hockey plays, and has won two in a row! If you haven't had a chance to sign up for the daily free play, do so now as we will be sending out quite a bit of hockey and likewise raising our winning percentage. I've said it before and I'll say it again, last year Richard hit a higher percentage than I've ever seen in any one sport in any one season! Don't worry, I'm not jinxing him, get on board and you'll see.
NBA quick hitter: I like the OVER's tonight, and for a blog free play get on the late game, as the most likely absence of Dwight Howard will help speed up the pace of that contest and fly over 200 points! Dwight sat out three games in January and the resulting scores of those contests averaged out to over 222 per game.
